First of all, Merry Christmas everyone!

I made some springs rolls and dim sims yesterday, and because I love taking pictures of food, I obviously took some xD

The spring rolls - my mum actually made these.

One year anniversary!!!

Today, or sometime this week, is my one year anniversary with my mp3 player. (LOL)

I remember I skipped school last year, around this time of the year, to go to JB Hi-Fi to buy my mp3 player.

Svenja was there for 'moral support.'

I was feeling really insecure, carrying $300 cash around in my bag, but I didn't get mugged, which was good.

Actually, till this day, my parents don't even know I have it!

Amazing huh?

Anyway, thecombatbutler and I have made a graphics community, so here's some pimping:

As requested by gemma_m

1. Open your base.

Do not sharpen it just yet.

2. Duplicate it it twice, set one to screen and the other one (the one on top) to soft light.
It depends on your image - I set my screen layer to 50%, but you might not have to.

3. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color
Make sure the "method" is set to relative, not absolute.

Put in these settings:
Reds
-100 / 0 / +100 / 0

Yellows
+100 / 0 / -100 / 0

Neutrals
+27 / 0 / -9 / 0

4. Then, make another new selective colouring layer.

Put in these settings:

Reds
-100 / 0 / +100 / 0

Yellows
-100 / 0 / +100 / 0

Neutrals
+37 / 0 / -23 / 0

And... you are done!
For my icon I simply put a texture over the top.

Now you can flatten the image and sharpen etc.

First icon colouring tutorial [enchanced yellows]

My very very first tutorial. xD

We're going to do this:

Involves selective colouring, made in Photoshop CS

Today, we are going from this: to this: .

To start off, open your base. Do not sharpen your image just yet.

Duplicate the base image, and set it to screen. I set my opacity to about 30%, but it depends on your image.

Go to Layers > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color.

Make sure at the bottom, it's checked at the Relative option, not the Absolute option.
Put these settings in:

Reds
Cyan: -62
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +12
Black: 0

Yellows
Cyan: -65
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +32
Black: +36

Cyans
Cyan: -100
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +100
Black: 0

Neutrals
Cyan: +16
Magenta: 0
Yellow: -8
Black: 0

Duplicate the selective colouring layer.

Fill a new layer with #FFEDED and set it to Colour Burn, opacity 100%.

Then, fill a new layer with #EFFFF6 and set it to Multiply, opacity 100%.

Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color

Put in these settings

Reds
Cyan: -22
Magenta: 0
Yellow: +15
Black: 0

Yellows
Cyan: +32
Magenta: 0
Yellow: -20
Black: 0

Neutrals
Cyan: +11
Magenta: -3
Yellow: -8
Black: 0

Duplicate this selective colouring layer, and set it to Darken, opacity 100%.

Now, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation.

Enter these settings:

Master
Saturation: +8

Reds
Saturation: +16

Yellows
Saturation: +9

And.... we are done!!
You can now flatten the image, and sharpen to your liking.

Note, that this colouring does not work with all images.

For example, with this base: I got this:

Yes, I devoted my day to trying to customise my layout.

I do really like my header though - the original screencap was REALLY yellow and I didn't think I could ever unyellow it, but I kinda did, sort of.

Went to Liverpool today.

Quite funny, because I thought Svenja was coming to pick me up at around 10, but she came at 9:15.

Slightly embarrassing, I was still in my PJs (or jimjams xD) and eating breakfast, when she and her father came in.

Well, at least I wasn't still sleeping.

And her dad had an appointment to go to after he drives us there, so I was kind of delaying him MAJORLY.

Anyway, I managed to get changed, put on moisturiser and sunscreen, and fill up my bottle and pack my bag in 5 minutes, which I'm quite proud of.

Met Carina, and Cecilia there.
Man, I DETEST summer here in Australia (and it's NOT even summer yet, it's still spring!)

I wish I lived in a cold place, where the temperature is constantly 20C.

Bought Criminal Minds season one on DVD.
Carina bought two DVDs, one of which had Gaspard in it, and it was MA, so she made me buy it, but surprisingly they didn't check my ID, so I don't look that young I guess.

And and and, I was in Dymocks and I realised that similarities between Twilight and the Wicca (or Sweep, as it's called in the US) series.

Both are like, supernatural fantasy, and both involve this love story type thing.

I take this chance to persuade everyone to read the Wicca series.

SERIOUSLY, IT'S SOOO SOOOOO GOOD!

And dare I say, better than Harry Potter?
Nah, they're a little too different to compare, but really, please please at least try and find the first book.

I completely forgot that today was Armistice Day until this afternoon, when I turned on the TV to watch some of the news.

*slaps head*

And you know what, I'm such an idiot.

Up until recently, I thought that changing the icon for the community and user icons were some feature only available for paid users.

Hmmm stupid me.

Well I think I'm going to start making a new LJ layout, coz this one's pissing me just a tad bit.
And my profile too - it's so plain.

Oh, due to a large amount of persuasion from, it seems, everyone, I bought Twilight today!

I went into a lot of trouble trying to get it, first I went to Angus and Robertson, they only had one copy which was ripped, then I went to David Jones, which didn't have it at all.
My parents were in the car waiting impatiently for me, and I ran to Big W, and they didn't have it either, and I went to Target, and no, they didn't have it.

I thought of Borders, and I was sure they would have it, but the problem is it's like on the other side of the shopping centre, and it is a pretty big one, so I kinda speed walked there where I finally found it.

After comparing the copies and seeing which one was in better condition, I purchased it when ran back to my parents car where they were getting very impatient.

I'm really not looking forward to school tomorrow.
Exam week was horrible, but I still liked it in a way.
Going home early, waking up late... if the marks didn't matter I wouldn't mind having exam week everyday.
