Today I was watching the Eccleston episode, "Dalek", while riding my stationary bike. I recently got the DVD's of the first three New Who seasons, and I'm going through the eps one per day.

That has to be one of the most wrenching, most raw performances I've ever seen from anyone playing the Doctor. He was just...riveting.

Tennant has done some really astonishing work as well, and I love his interpretation to bits, but getting reacquainted with Eccleston and his hard-edged, walking-wounded Doctor is proving to be very satisfying.

Is there any chance at all that Eccleston might come back for even a tiny little charity episode, a la Davison in Time Crash?
